A video chat app which allows youngsters to match with strangers has led to warnings by experts for parents to closely monitor their child’s phone use. The Monkey app, which is pitched at teenagers, lets users talk face-to-face with random people for 15 seconds and add extra time to the call if they both agree.
If you find this app on your child’s phone as part of your regular checks, we recommend you delete the app to ensure their safety. If you have any concerns or would like to discuss this matter in more detail, please contact Mr Birch or a member of the Safeguarding team via Reception on 01562 741 524. Alternatively, you can email email@example.com directly. If you are concerned that your child may have been exploited via the Monkey app, please contact the Police.
