A number of students have expressed concerns today about sightings of people dressed in costume intended to intimidate others in the local area. We are not yet aware of any specific locations or examples where that this has happened, but can reassure parents that we are increasing our staff presence at the entrance and exit points to the school site. 

Our general advice to students walking to and from school is:

• walk home in groups of at least 3 students
• keeping to main roads and not alleyways
• if they are concerned or see anything suspicious, walk away and call 999 straight away.

Please discuss this advice with your child when they get home and please do not hesitate to contact the school if you have any concerns. Intimidating children on their journey to or from school is not acceptable in any form and we will not hesitate to contact the police.
