Ofsted

We are delighted to announce that in our recent OFSTED inspection Baxter College was graded as a ‘good’ school by the inspection team, recognising the brilliant work that our students and staff team do every day.

The report highlights...

the ‘highly effective’ care we take of our students, the ‘positive relationships’ between teachers and students, and the quality of the curriculum we offer. We are building a stable and successful school, gradually improving the way the school runs. Many of the systems we use to manage behaviour and learning in the classroom were praised. The ‘good’ grading is a recognition of what we have achieved in a short period of time, and provides encouragement to continue with our journey.

We really value...

the constructive advice offered by the inspectors. The report highlights the continued need to improve the attendance of students to school, and I would urge you to support us in this. The report praises the effective care and support we offer students with Special Educational Needs, but challenges us to improve the monitoring and tracking of the quality of the work we do with these students.

On a personal note...

I am incredibly proud of everyone involved, thank you to all our community who have contributed to school life in many ways over the last 2 years. I hope you all feel proud of our school.
